⚙️ How it works

How does the Class 5 21st Century Life Skills Assessment work?

In the Class 5 paper, your child meets 40 short questions — real situations, best-answer checks and “that’s me” questions. Each one lands in one of four skill areas:

How it works

  • 🧠 Cognitive Skills. How your child thinks things through — decisions, problems, and checking what they hear before believing it.
  • 🤝 Interpersonal Skills. How they work with people — teaming up, leading, adjusting when plans change, getting ideas across.
  • 💪 Intrapersonal Skills. How they handle themselves — empathy, bouncing back, starting things and sticking with them.
  • 💻 Digital Skills. How smartly they live online — spotting fake content, finding trustworthy information, staying safe.

Each area holds four skills — 16 in all, each scored 0 to 100. The strongest area becomes your child's strongest area, named in plain words.

🎯 Why this class

Why a Class 5 student should take the 21st Century Life Skills Assessment

Middle school is one year away.

Flexibility & Adaptability is what makes that jump easy or hard — better to know now than in the first term of Class 6.

Their first real life online.

Information Literacy and Media Literacy say whether your child checks a thing before believing it, or forwards it.

Good marks hide the gap.

Strong marks and a low Resilience & Coping score live together comfortably — only one of them shows up on the report card.

Your child walks away with: their strongest of the four skill areas named in plain words, all 16 skills on one amber-to-green scale, one strength and one focus area, six small growth activities sized for Class 5, a page for you and one for the teacher — and a certificate with a verification code.

🗓️ When & why

When should a Class 5 student take the 21st Century Life Skills Assessment?

Does this sound familiar?

👨‍👩‍👧A parent

They got monitor duty — and came home upset because 'nobody did what I said'.

Leadership and empathy are scored side by side. The report shows which one is already there and gives you home moments to grow the other.

🧑‍🏫A counsellor / teacher

The last year before middle school — and I can't tell which of my forty will cope with six teachers and a timetable.

Decision-making, initiative and adaptability scores for every child, so your handover note to Class 6 says something real.

🧒Your child

Believes every 'fact' from the video, repeats it at dinner.

Media literacy and internet safety are part of the map at ten. The report shows how well they check before they believe — and what to practise together.

The right moments

🪜 The last primary year

Middle school asks for independence — see which skills are ready before the jump.

🎒 First real responsibilities

Monitor duty, group projects, their own timetable — decision making and initiative become visible this year.

📱 When screens enter the picture

If videos and games have arrived at home, the digital-skills scores tell you how safely.

Why now, not later: Middle school asks for independence next year. Learn which skills are ready this year, and there's a whole year to build the ones that aren't.

Once a year is enough. Your child is compared only with their own last score — never with another child.

🌱 The wheel

The life-skills wheel, for Class 5

The Class 5 paper covers the whole wheel — the last primary year is a natural checkpoint.

Group projects make Collaboration and Initiative visible for the first time. A dip here now is easy to coach before middle school.

🤔 Parents ask

Class 5 Life Skills assessment — straight answers

How many questions are in the Class 5 Life Skills assessment?

40, in four short sections — how you think, you and people, you and yourself, your digital world. They are picture scenarios, best-answer checks and “that’s me” questions. The first 10 are free with no card; the rest unlock with the full assessment.

Is the Class 5 Life Skills assessment timed?

There is a friendly timer of about 30 minutes (45 seconds a question) that pauses between sections. If it runs out the assessment does not stop — your child just gets a gentle “wrap up” nudge.

Can my Class 5 child do the Life Skills assessment alone?

Sit nearby for the first few. Every question has a picture scene and a tap-to-hear button that reads it aloud, and the answers are simple “that’s me” choices. Read it together if needed — but let your child pick the answer.

Are there right and wrong answers? Is there a score?

No wrong answers, and no marks or ranks. The report gives a skills strongest skill area named in plain words, an overall level from Emerging to Advanced, and a 16-skill wheel — a growth snapshot, not a grade.

What does the Class 5 report contain?

Your archetype and overall level, the 21st Century Life Skills & Learning Wheel across 4 areas and 16 skills, a close-up of each skill, a growth plan of activities, a short note each for parents and teachers, and a downloadable PDF with a certificate.

How often should a Class 5 student retake it?

Once a year. The app keeps one result per class year; take it again next year and the report adds a skills-journey chart showing what has changed.
