⚙️ How it works

How does the Communication Assessment work?

How it works

In the Class 10 paper, you answer 68 quick questions across six skills — some scored, some honest self-checks about how you actually communicate.

🔤
English SkillsScored questions on vocabulary, grammar and understanding what you read.
🗣️
Speaking & ExpressingHow clearly and confidently you put thoughts into spoken words — an honest self-check.
👂
ListeningA self-check first — then the Listening Lab plays a real passage and asks what you heard.
🔎
Reading Non-verbal CuesScored questions: what does a face, a pause or a tone of voice actually mean?
🧍
Body Language & VoiceThe signals you send — eye contact, posture, expressions, tone of voice.
🤝
Connecting with PeopleScored people-moments: saying hard things kindly, reading the room, adjusting to your audience.

🧪 Optional labs on top: 🎙️ Speaking Lab (recorded, checked on your device, audio deleted) and 🎥 Presence Lab — watch yourself back and rate your own body language.

Your six scores combine into one communication level out of 100 — and the report tells you which skill to work on first.

🎯 Why this class

Why a Class 10 student should take the Communication Assessment

Vivas and internals are marked on how it comes out.

English, Speaking & Expressing and Connecting with People are scored separately, so you know which one is costing you marks in the room.

Stream conversations happen out loud.

Counsellors, teachers and relatives all ask. The report shows whether your answer is actually clear, or only clear inside your head.

Assessment early and the fix lands this year.

Do it now and the vivas get the improvement. Do it in Class 11 and only the new school sees it.

You walk away with one communication level out of 100, all six skills scored separately, your strongest skill and the first one to grow, lab results when taken, a practice plan, separate notes for your parents and teachers, and a certificate with a verifiable serial.

🗓️ When & why

When should a Class 10 student take the Communication Assessment?

Does this sound familiar?

🎒The student

Everyone asks what stream you want. You have an answer — it just won’t come out right in front of them.

Connecting with People scores saying hard things kindly and adjusting to the audience. The assessment shows if it is the words, the nerve or the room.

👨‍👩‍👧A parent

Board year. A tutor for every subject — none for how the viva answers come out.

Clear spoken answers earn real marks this year. The report names the one skill to tune before the first internal, and what to practise at home.

🧑‍🏫A counsellor / teacher

Stream-choice sessions: thirty students, one period, and the ones who most need to talk say nothing.

Pair the communication profile with the career report. Give the quiet ones a smaller session; brief parents with evidence instead of impressions.

The right moments

📝 Board-year vivas and internals

Clear spoken answers earn real marks this year. Know where you stand before the first viva.

🧭 Stream-choice conversations

You will have to say what you want — to parents, teachers, counsellors — and back it up.

🌱 Before the Class 11 fresh start

Assessment now, work on one skill over the break, walk into Class 11 stronger.

Why now, not later: assessment early in Class 10 and the vivas get the fix. Assessment in Class 11 and only the new school does.

Honestly: once a year. You are compared with your own last attempt — nobody else.

🤔 Parents ask

Class 10 Communication assessment — what parents ask

Is the Class 10 Communication assessment timed?

Softly. A friendly countdown allows about 45 seconds a question — it warns when time is up but never submits for you. Plan for about 30 minutes in one sitting; progress is not saved part-way.

How many questions are in the Class 10 Communication assessment?

68: English 18, Speaking 10, Listening 8, Reading non-verbal cues 13, Body language & voice 10, Connecting with people 9. Then the Listening, Speaking and Presence Labs — a story read aloud with three questions, short spoken tasks recorded on the mic, and one video answer you rate yourself.

Will the Class 10 assessment record my child on video?

Only in the Presence Lab (beta), and only if they choose to: they record a 30-second self-introduction, watch it back and rate their own body language. The video never leaves the device and is deleted — only the self-ratings are kept. Skip it or deny camera permission and the assessment carries on.

Are there wrong answers? Is there a rank?

English, Reading non-verbal cues and Connecting with people are scored; Speaking, Listening and Body language & voice are honest self-checks with no right answer. The report gives a level out of 100 and six skill scores — never a rank or a class comparison.

What does the report show — and is there a certificate?

One communication level out of 100, all six skills with what to do next, the strongest skill and the first one to grow, lab results, a practice plan, and separate notes for parents and teachers. Print or save it as a PDF; a certificate and a share card are included.

How often should a Class 10 student retake it?

Once a year. On a retake the report adds a journey page comparing this year with their own last attempt — never with classmates or siblings.
